This book by an author I’d never heard of before (who has several other books that are definitely on my reading list) was excellent. Wildfires are burning around Los Angeles, a mysterious beach bum is trying to keep a low profile, and a body is found in a convertible. Well written and gripping, I like the unusual protagonist (a likeable arsonist) and the rest of the vivid characters.
