"May we always find ourselves in the company of scholars, may learning never cease in our lifetime, and may our learning only bring to the world justice and peace."
--Dr. Alan Block, writer, reader, and educator
NOTICE!
For some reason I can add sidebars, but not new posts. Please check back later. I have been working on a variety of things including switching my blog soon from this one, which was set up with my now-defunct West Wisconsin Telcom account. I hope to have my new blog through Gmail up soon. I will provide a link and announcement when I've got everything straight. 7/2/11
I did it!
I completed the 30-day National Novel Writing Month challenge!
Literary Living
A program that helps you design a system for creating the writing life that works best for you; provides resources for tackling the more common hurdles you face as a writer; furnishes tools for identifying goals and staying on track for achieving them; and gives you a community for ongoing support and inspiration. I highly recommend it. http://www.literaryliving.com

When your muse runs off
Calliope, the Greek Muse of Poetry
This must be why I’m a terrible poet—the same thing happened to my Muse of Poetry as happened to writer John Updike, who said, “I would especially like to re-court the Muse of Poetry, who ran off with the mailman four years ago, and drops me only a scribbled postcard from time to time.”
